Silver Died
And just to clarify, Silver is the name of my laptop. Because it was silver and shiny. So I dubbed it Silver and I loved it and made much use with it for the last two and a half years.
I was certain I learned this lesson, but apparently I didn't. So I'm going to spread the message to you my loyal readers. Back up your files kids! You don't know when your hard drive will crash and burn!
So, where am I bringing this? My updated files, with all my scripts for both Demon Chronicles AND the Creature (and for that matter, all of my writing, pictures, art, work I've done, whatever, for the last six months) was on my computer's hard drive. I kept thinking to myself "you know, I really should back this up, I only have three external hard drives specifically for THAT PURPOSE!" but alas, I am lazy and it appeared to be hard work and my computer by all acounts appeared to be fine.
Well, low and behold, one wild and stormy friday the thirteenth (well, actually, by my recollection, yesterday was rather sunny) my computer decided to kick the bucket. And it took its hard drive with it.
I can get the information back, eventually, but this will take some snazzy skills via Data Recovery and a Clean Room. At the tune of, well, more money then I have.
Fortunately, I have the next story script stored elsewhere, luckily, so I can get to work on that. But in the meantime, um, no comic script, no Demon Script, and a bunch of stuff went missing. I think I will shop around and see what I can recover from this, but in the meantime, well, I have to find the time to rewrite a part of the next script again, and then I have to figure out what I'm going to do.
Or the comic might have just died with my hard drive. I'm not sure if I want to deal with it anymore.
