Acrylic on Canvas - 18"x36" - Fall 2002
This was a homework assignment for my acrylic painting class. I was required to take an asian fine artist and copy their style, meanwhile inserting my appearance into the painting. I came up with this painting, the original I copied it from was titled Shirakashiko. I do not know if that was the artist or the title of the piece but I've always liked this specific work. The only thing I have a problem with is that it appears I'm being skewered down the middle with my katana, which appears to have broken somewhere in the center. I'll probably take the opportunity to touch it up a bit in the future because the sword really does irk me. But otherwise, one of my favorite pieces. Even if I have myself dressed in pink.

Wow, that's good! It really looks a lot like a Japanese work, thus making it a good copy. :)

Yet another self portrait I was able to tell before reading your comments about it. And I can see another one of you coming up in a few pictures down from this.
I must say, even though most our friendship was spent miles away our whole life, I know you pretty well.
