Acrylic on Canvas - 36"x48" - Spring 2003
This is part 2 of a series that I prefer to call 'the elements' of sorts. Its still unfinished, I need to make the fourth one, and the first one doesn't quite go with the other two. This one I labeled blue for the obvious, it's a monochromatic color scheme involving blue and more blue. The aura around it is a bit depressing, the figure is hunched over and appears a little down. It may have matched my mood at the time (I find painting to be very therapeutic.)
If I were to do this one over again, I would have given the piece more space at the feet and less space around the head, or shrunk it down a bit. But one of the things I like about this piece is its size. It's quite big, which forces me to move fast so I can cover the canvas quickly, which is a fun way to work! And that's the way I like it!
