Oil on Canvas - 3'x3', Fall 2002
This is one of my few experimentations with Oils, and probably my most successful one. It was done very quickly, one of those pieces where I really got into the mood of the piece. Yes, like most of my other paintings, it was an assignment. I had to take an object and blow it up, distort it in a way where it wasn't seen as it usually is. There's this antique bell at my parents house, probably stands seven inches high. I used that.
There is a little distortion in this painting. Some people have suggested that it makes it more interesting. It bugs other people. I'm not sure how I feel about it.
