Fisher by Calzephyr

Fisher, done in EquineXchange by Calzephyr. She had done art for me before, in the guise of my horse Dodger for this same community.

She offered to send the original to me, I really need to take her up on that offer. She did a fantastic job.

Blaze

I adopted Jet's character Blaze when she got no art for February. I went nuts on the wings. The drawing started out small enough, but I had to keep expanding it go get the wings to look right. I was unhappy with it before, but I rather like how it turned out.

Blaze is usually an anthro horse that likes to surf. So I took a shot at that. I think I did a fair job. I messed up the wing however.

My coloring skills are getting better.

Ali

This is Ali, done for Blue Snowangel in the EquineXchange. She's an anthro, though I admit I'm a bit leary about Anthros so I vouched to do two images to make up for the shoddy job I would undoubtedly do with the anthro version of her. Actually, the Anthro came out better then the normal image did.

I have a picture of me in the pose shown above and wanted to do something with it, so I put Ali into it. It works up until her head, which I'm not very satisfied with. I toyed with redoing it, but it didn't work out so I left it.

I took an image of a draft horse for this, and it came out alright, I like the shadows but overall the anthro came out better.

Both backgrounds consist of me copping out. I swear one of these days I'll focus on the background.

Ali's Birthday Bash

This is a portion of the full piece (click to view) as it is rather large. This is Magic and Snow, involved in a birthday bash for Ali the unicorn. This was done as gift art for everybody involved in March's EquineXchange by Blue Snowangel, even though it was HER birthday. I actually submitted several characters that month, and she decided to do both Magic and Snow. I likes muchly :)

Ironically enough, I got Blue Snowangel for my exchange this month, so I did my own interpretation of Ali.

Fisher by Boss Hoss

This is Fisher, done by BossHoss in the EquineXchange over at LJ. He's not really an anthro character but I gave the artist the option so she put him in a running outfit. My first thought when I saw it was that she made him gay, but I got a laugh out of it. Fisher does like to run. This isn't really an accurate portrayal of him seeing he isn't an anthro character but I still like it, I enjoy seeing people's various interpretations of characters I submit, when they get them right and even when they deviate from the picture in my head.

So it might not be the best reference pic for Fisher, but I still enjoys it muchly :)

Splash by Ishaway

The only thing I can suggest with this piece is that it might be a bit more appropriate if it were reversed, so that the flame unicorn is in the reflection.

Anyway, this is a piece done in the EquineXchange by Ishaway of Splash in both her regular and flame form.

Splash is named for the element of Water, but she can draw from fire as well.

Magic by DaughterofTwilight

This was done for the Equine Exchange on LJ, it's Magic, looking rather huggable if I might say so myself.

This was done by DaughterofTwilight, who I've gotten art from as SpiketheGoddess in the past.

Splash by Shekeira

This is Splash, done for the Halloween Equine Exchange over on LJ. This was done for me by Shekeira.

Splash isn't very fond of Halloween, and she must have seen the comic where she got scared out of her wits and used it for reference. I loved it!

Meria

I suck at Backgrounds. I had a background with a little patch of grass on here forever and it was driving me crazy because it looked like hell. This background isn't anything much, but believe it or not it is a vast improvement. I just learned that my usual style of backgrounds don't go with this style of drawin. I should try something really different. . .

Anyway, this is Meria, and she belongs to Ishaway. I was assigned her through the EquineXchange. I love drawing horses and I decided to try her from a reference pic, though I did screw up the anatomy a bit. I also experimented with her coloring.

I went back in later and did a few other pieces of her as well.

I have a strange fascination with belly dancing. I love the costumes and I think it looks awesome. I need to get myself a belly dancing outfit when I get married I think. Anyway, this was sketched entirely on the computer with reference lines sketched in before hand. I'm working on this kind of drawing, but I really think I need to get used to Adobe Photoshop's pen tool. That would really help with the lineart, which is what I'm working on here. The image with the reference lines looked kind of cool to me.

Static

This is Static, done for the Equine Exchange for Talzanna. I volunteered to get some drawing in, and I love how it turned out, though I wasn't thrilled with how I portrayed the lightening wings, so I included an image with them removed.

I've been focusing on doing more realistic lineart from reference and coloring those.

Jordan

So, this was me expermenting with Illustrator, and making this in the meantime.

I usually don't have such a cute style, but for some reason, it came out in this image. And this character isn't usually a cute chraacter 'doh!'

This is Jordan, done for the Equine Exchange for Tieren.

Morgan

I can't believe a drawing stumped me as much as this one did. I took forever to get it turned in. Bleh.

This was supposed to be done in November for Equine Exchange, but i didn't get it done until March.

I think the character was to fru fru for me to really get inspired and motivated to draw. But overall, I don't think it turned out that bad.

Morgan belongs to BellyoftheWolf.

Fahren

This was done for Dwelian in the LJ exchange group Equine Exchange, of her character Fahren. The character description for this character is out freakin' standing, I didn't do her justice.

This was done in October 2006

Mievzar

Another Equinexchange piece for Ebonepona of her character Mievzar. For some reason, he doesn't like to show his eyes. He's a fascinating character, I had fun doing this, but since we did a straight exchange that round, I fear I may have gotten the better end of the deal.

Ebonepona's exchange piece with me.

'Autumn Void' by Defilerwyrm

This was art through EquineXchange, by the most talented Defilerwyrm.

She went with the whole Autumn theme and believe it or not, she initially forgot the wings.

I can just sit here and gawk.

Dare Not

Dare Not looks a little creepy. Because he's part Kelpie. I did this for Equine Exchange (hadn't done a whole lot in the exchange arena lately) and was really interested in doing something where the description says that he looks like a skeleton when he gets wet.

I have to step back from this for a while to get a good feel for it, sometimes I feel like its good to go and other times I feel like I need to fiddle with it some more.

Ultimately, I like it, so there.

Here's another take on him, except for he's dry. I need to finish the hooves, just realized I didn't complete them.

Dare Not belongs to Blitzava

Mea

Done through Equinexchange for SpiketheGoddess, her character Mea, who is actually anthro. I vow to get better at doing anthro horses, but for some reason, while i was trying to sketch this out, I just couldn't get it to look right. So it took me forever to finally get it done.

since I got so stumped with the whole anthro thing, I decided to save myself time and heartache and I just did a headshot.

I tried some new things with this, and overall I like how it turned out.

Now I can participate in Equinexchange again.

Dodger by Dwelian

Ok, this is just downright adorable. Dwelian has a great stylized look in her artwork and it really shows here.

This was done through Equine Exchange in Livejournal.

Dodger by Spiderling00

My horse Dodger, done by Spiderling00 also known as Tearsforaunicrn. She's got her own unique style and it was interesting to see Dodger depicted this way. She did a fantastic job. We did a direct art trade, this is what I got from her. This is the art she got from me.

Magic by EbonePona

This was done by the amazingly talented Ebonepona of Magic. She's to hard on herself but I have to say it's fantastic. She just has a wonderful feel for equines.

I also got lineart from her before she colored this as well. I have to learn how to do this.

Dodger by Calzephyr

This is Dodger, my horse I owned way back when, rendered by Calzephyr. She took an old pic I had in my gallery and sketched it, which I don't mind, though she fears she made him look more like a Quarter Horse then an Arabian. Oh well, Dodger didn't look much like an Arabian anyway.

I still think it is very cute :)

Dodger by Echo

I recieved this through the Equine Art Exchange from the wonderfully talented EchoStar (one of my would be roomies). Her art is always amazingly done.

Dodger is my old horse that I used to own. I have been in the habit of entering him into various art exchanges, especially Horse Based Ones.

Splash, done through the EquineXchange by Maracrow. She had a wonderful touch giving Splash a very soft and subdued nature.

Shekeira, done for EquineXchange. I'm sort of frustrated by how this came out. Grr.

Jhkae

This is Jhkae, a Hippocampus done for Equine Exchange. I need to reupload it so it doesn't have the blue mark through it.

I really like the effect of water in this one.

Saqtai

This is a prime example of me going overboard with my generosity. This was my first piece of art in the EquineXchange and I gave the girl like 5 pieces of art. Here is her website. Some were decent. Others were awful.

I just got into a drawing blitz. Oh well.

All arts follow.

I can't draw anthro Horses.

I think this one is my favorite of the lesser arts.

This was done entirely in Corel Painter. I still don't know what I'm doing with that program.
