![]() Sketch Colored in Photoshop - Spring 2007 More illustration photomanipulation goodness in Photoshop (again, this isn't really art). This doesn't really show much in the way of oohs and ahhs, but what I got from it was the technique in dealing with masks and layers. Its a different coloring technique then I usually use, and it works rather well when you change your mind about different colors. Case in point, the pitch blackness I depicted above is actually the removal of the body color, which I can show in any color I want, such as different shades of grey or reds. ![]() Ok, now we might be getting a little ridiculous. ![]() Sketch Colored in Photoshop - 2006 Is that Draco Malfoy riding a unicorn? No it's not, dad nab it! No, this is not art, it's illustration (and truthfully, one of my weak areas) but this was an image I did where I tried something different with the coloring and used masks instead of just layers. As for the subject, well, this is an event I pictured in my head of a scene in one of my stories. The male character goes by Melvin (or perhaps Wyatt) at this stage, and the fact that he's in a business suit is another long story. The unicorn in question doesn't usually allow riders, but he'll make an exception for Melvin. It's rather long and won't make much sense, so just enjoy the picture. ![]() Pencil colored in Photoshop - February 2008 Overall I like how it came out, better then earlier tries, but I think I'm going to go back in and do something else with the Background one of these days. It leaves something to be desired. I think I'm going to try to do more computer photoshop manips in this manner. Labels: illustration, photoshop

Sketch colored in Photoshop - Winter 2003 One of my aspiring photoshop illustration pieces, probably one of the better ones I've done, as progress can be seen, but by no means great. Inspiration is myself, though I'm not this good in real life, I aspire to be able to take the air on a snowboard but have yet to acquire this feat. And the image is that of a cat. The cat is based also on myself. If I were to be an anthropormorphic character, I would definitely be a cat. As I am independent and it was something I was obsessed with when I was three. The tail was originally left out. Then somebody mentioned that the cat looks to need a tail. I didn't know how to put one in there, it felt odd. It still feels odd. Labels: photoshop

Sketch colored in Photoshop - Summer 2003 Silver, a member of a race of beings I created in 1996. They are a bit quirky and I've had people accuse me of creating a goat/dog/dragon hybrid race. Ok, so I did. So sue me. Probably one of my more successful pieces in this respect. Still no background. Very much illustrative, not very artistic. Trying to learn more about how to make hair look like hair on a computer. Fun stuff. Labels: photoshop
Myra Revealed

![]() Sketch colored in Photoshop - Fall 2003 So why is this in my art file? I'm not exactly sure, its definitely an illustration and not really all that great. But I guess its a sign of some of my early stuff. This was actually done for my comic Creature, and I basically played around with this one. No background, something i need to work on (but I really do suck at backgrounds) but basically the jist behind this is this woman, Myra, keeps herself covered from head to toe. She's extremely beautiful and has an unusual look to her, so she tries to keep herself as inconspicious as possible. But when she needs kick some ass, she ain't afraid to try to rouse her opponents by intimidating them a bit. I still have a lot of learning to do. This is far from great. I hope to look at this in the future and think 'man, that was pathetic, I'm so much better now.' But for now, I kind of like it. The staff turning into a sword feels a little weak however, and her stance kind of irks me too. But the thing here is working on the coloring. Labels: photoshop

Sketch colored in Photoshop - Spring 2003 This was a labor of time consuming love. I don't think it looks all THAT great, but I don't think it looks that bad. Just a lot of people look at this and think *gasp* You drew her NAKED!' Yes, I did. But for crying out loud, its an illustration. This is Myra (aka Splash) turning from her human form into her unicorn form, complete with wings and all. The goal here was to go for the CGI look which I fairly accomplished. Now I have to work on my original sketch and blending to make it all flow better together. One of the first real pieces I did that looked halfway decent in photoshop. I didn't have a flippen clue before this, and then I learned about a valuable thing called 'Multiply Mode', done in layers. It makes things so easy. Labels: photoshop
