A blog about a girl who speaks her mind and talks about whatever she wants. So its a blog about everything, and absolutely nothing, all at the same time. . .
Profile
Name: Kami
Alias: Risawn
Location: Washington State, United States
An avid Snowboarder, rabid NRA supporter, Starving Artist, Military Junkie, anti-fru-fru Glorified Private that basically posts incoherant ramblings and things better left unsaid.
Granted, probably not for the guys. I thought maybe I'd get Mulan or something (my favorite Disney Heroine) but apparently my daydreaminess and creativity won out.
Have you fallen down the rabbit hole lately? Or played croquet with a deck of cards? Either way, you're so very much like Alice! Her wild imagination and constant ability to daydream got her in so much trouble - you've probably heard your mother or teacher lecture you about having your head in the clouds! Remember to stay grounded most of the time, however, because life can get away from you when you're always dreaming about someplace else!
A-Attached or single: Single. Perhaps one of these days I can claim attachment.
B- Best Friend(s): My family is very close and my best friends here in town, but I will always consider my childhood friends Andrea and Marnie my best friends. We get together and we catch up like we haven't been apart.
C-Cake or Pie: I'm more of a Pie person. Preferably homemade apple. I've never been big into cake. Love brownies though :)
D-Day of Choice: I like Saturdays. There is something about them. But as you get older, and your schedule is not the 9-5 monday through friday beat, you come to discover that the day of the week really isn't that big of a deal. I'll probably answer differently when I have kids.
E- Essential Item: Laptop and a Wacom Drawing Tablet
F- Favorite Color: I'm big into earth tones and blues.
G- Gummi Bears or Worms: Hasbro Haribo's Gummi Bears are the BEST!
H- Hometown: I've lived all over the western US, and the army has taken me quite a few places, but since the family has lived here for 12 years this summer, Spokane has become home.
I- Indulgence(s): Internet, TV shows on DVD, a Wii that my nephew is borrowing, spontanious (somewhat) road trips,
J- January or July: I'm a Snowboarder and I love the snow (but not driving in it) so January has its ups, but I so remember summers as a kid and they still hold a special place with vacations and barbeques and staying up all night doing random stuff that it's a draw.
K-Kids: A lot of nieces and nephews, but so far none of my own.
L-Life is incomplete without: completeness? I really don't know to be honest. I've never thought about it.
M- Marriage Date: On a Date yet to be announced, sometime in the hopefully not to distant future (we'll shoot for the next four years or so)
N- Number of Siblings: 3 sisters 2 brothers.
O- Oranges or Apples: Lately its been Oranges. Orange juice, orange slices, whatever, I just like oranges.
P- Phobias or Fears: I've got a strange Eye fear where sharp pointed things pointing at my eye will make me nervous and my eyes will start to get irritated. For some reason, my neck is ismilarily sensitive. I used to have a horrid public speaking fear that I have gotten over, but I still get a little nervous and shakey sometime.
Q- Quote: "I thought I was a good artist, then I became an Art Major" ~ Me (more true now then ever)
R- Reason To Smile: Random Roadtrips to see friends and family I haven't seen in years.
S- Season: Every season has special significance to me. I love the winter because I'm a snow junkie when it is heavy in the mountains, Spring is just so pretty when everything is in bloom, Summer is all about enjoying the weather and doing things with the family, and autumn means the leaves are changing and of course, I'm a November Birthday so I can't say which one specifically. I have to admit I like the four seasons which is one of the benefits of living in Spokane.
T- Tag Six: Er, um, hmm. . . I have no clue. . . Tag you strange random person with a blog! You're it!
U- Unknown Fact About Me: I don't know if there is anything people DON'T know about me, I'm such a blunt and open person with really nothing to hide because I'm so bluntly honest with myself that I can never think of anything to say that people don't know about me. I've had a blog for too long.
V- Vegetarian or Oppressor of Animal: I love animals. They go great with Mashed Potatoes.
W- Worst Habit: I pick. At everything, whether it be chipping fingernail polish, wilting paint, wall paper, my face. . . by far my worst habit.
X- X-Rays or Ultrasounds: I have no children (this is kind of an odd one) I have had X-Rays from multiple injuries though.
Y- Your Favorite Food: Lately I've been big on Thai and Sushi.
Ok, so I got tagged to write 7 strange but true things about myself by Joe over at the Bunker Blog.
To be honest, I don't think there is really a whole lot of strange but true things to write about myself that I haven't already written about. But what the heck, here it goes. For those of you who have followed me for some time, you might already know these things.
For a while, I considered my sexual orientation as Anti-Sexual (and discovered that there are other people out there with this view). I never really considered myself as a child of being a girl or wanting to be a boy (I was a huge tomboy, btw) but rather, I just wanted to be me. I didn't want to be viewed as anything and I hated it when my parents forced me to dress up in girly clothes to go to church. It's kind of weird in that I tend to demonize sex a lot in my writing as I tend to view all aspects of the topic. I'm curious about it, yes, but I'm more curious about why people do it. I guess in a way I am still a Anti-Sexual, but I view myself as Straight even though I have an attraction to both sexes. But its more in an artistic way, I see the beauty of the human body, I just don't want to have sex with it. Is that strange about me? I think so. Maybe that's the reason why I tend to refuse to date? It didn't stop my brother in law from calling me a Repressed Lesbian however.
I have a very well functioning Gaydar. There are a few good friends I knew in High School that I had suspicions about but were straight at the time and have later come out as being Gay. More then one friend in this fashion. In fact, when people come out of the closet, it usually doesn't shock me.
I didn't realize I enjoyed writing until my Senior Year in High School. I never wrote before this time, but since I discovered I liked to write, I haven't stopped. My early writing is very painful to read, because my inexperience is very apparent, but I've written probably around the neighborhood of at least 20,000 pages worth of stories. I don't let anybody read them however, for a variety of reasons. See bullet 2.
I have experienced Memory Loss. Not a lot of people can claim this (unless they are a character on television), but I can genuinely say that I have had Amnesia. I remembered who I was, but I had no clue about the date, what I had done, and why I was completely out of my mind. I freaked out pretty bad. Not a lot of fun, but interesting to think about. I had often wondered in my youth what memory loss would be like. Now I know.
I am dysthemic, meaning I suffer from chronic depression. I've come to just accept this about me as a fact of life really, it was a problem when I was younger but since I've grown older and matured a lot, its not a debilitating factor like it could be. As you can see, I'm still pretty frank and honest about myself. For a long time I thought I was probably bipolar because I can get into some crazy moods, I have mentioned that I can act drunk without getting drunk, because I can get really uninhibited. However, these highs are actually not common enough to classify me as Bipolar. So I was diagnosed as a Dysthemic when I was in Kosovo.
i have maintained a webcomic off and on for about six years. I think this in itself qualifies as strange, as most webcomics have a lifespan of about a month. If they get the first post off the ground.
So there you have it, a few strange but true things about me, and now that I look at it, its not altogether strange. Maybe I should think about it a little more, but I can't figure out anything.
I don't tag, so if you want to do this and post in on your blog, be my guest. But, er, maybe you can come up with some stranger factoids about you then I can. I can't think of anything right now.
Yay, a random Meme. I actually wasn't tagged, but maybe I was? I don't know. Let's see how well I can answer this.

Extra note - Blogger's spell check is really stupid.
Alright, so I took some time to answer the questions via a video blog, and noticed I have a tendency to ramble. It took me 12 minutes to answer 8 posts. (and two people asked questions after I recorded the video so. . . er. . . ). I didn't read the questions until I recorded them, so these are off the fly answers that I didn't give myself time to think about. I thought the results might be interesting.
I don't normally video blog, it's something I decided I would try to do, and I had to cut it down into sections to fit the recording in. I don't even know if this is remotely interesting to hear me ramble for whatever or not. Probably not. Let me know if I should video blog more or what I can do to improve it. We'll see.
So, onto the questions.
The first video is WA Tom, Dave J, Haji, John, and Jonathan. And, er, sorry Haji, I read your question and mostly concentrated on teh fact that you seemed to answer Dave's question, so to answer your Apartment question, um, I honestly have no idea why they are called Apartments. I bet if you looked at the root words there is an answer to that.
The second video answers Jeff's questions. And I spend a lot of time answering his questions. A lot of it is rambling and restating the same thing a dozen times in different ways.
The third and final video is answering Arah and Robbie. Arah's question is a doozy.
So, the old fashioned way of answering questions for the two I failed to videoblog, we'll start with T, who writes:
"What has been the toughest part of your military service?"
Bar none, it was my deployment to Kosovo. Mostly because it was through the School of Hard Knocks that I learned things from there. But it has also been one of my most vital lessons in my development as a soldier and a leader. I had a horrible NCOIC that I didn't realize until late in the deployment was a complete asshole that didn't deserve my loyalty or respect but granted, his failure to mentor me taught me some valuable lessons I probably wouldn't have learned otherwise. Overall my deployment was a positive one, definitely a growing experience. As they say, that which doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. I can agree with that statement that right now I'm probably at my most stable mentally and emotionally then I have ever been. I have definitely matured since then, but I still have a lot of learning to do.
"Do you plan to retire from the military?" Jeff asked me a similar question I answer in the second video. I will definitely put in thirteen or fourteen years (my reenlistment contract is up to debate, I have two ETS dates at present that I'll worry about when the time gets closer) but at this point, I have a sneaky suspicion that I'll go ahead and fulfill that twenty. I'm in a job I love and I can see myself doing this for a while. But we'll see how I feel in a few years.
Funny, in relation to your last question, when I came off of active duty from Kosovo, I was pretty certain I was going to get out. The military is not without its downfalls, but I've enjoyed myself for the most part and I can see myself doing this for now.
A Random Reader writes: Can you explain the cliche of women being attracted to 'men in uniform' (MIUs as some of my friends refer to them)?
And, in your experience, does it work the other way around - are some men attracted to women in uniform?!?"
In response to the first part of the question, uniformed professions such as police, firemen and military are very masculine jobs. I think women are attracted to that masculinity and hence are drawn to the man in uniform. I have to admit, I'm not really into the whole metrosexual thing. I like guys who are men. So I have to admit that on the whole I'm attracted to a man in uniform. But when you are in the military and always see guys in uniform, you get desensitized to it. And strangely enough, I don't really see it in the new ACUs as much as the BDUs.
As for my experience with guys attracted to women in uniform, apparently some people found this attractive.
Granted, I have also heard comments that I look hideous in that picture as well (these generally come from the liberal persuasion). Honestly, what I think guys find attractive about women in uniform is their authority and aggressiveness. Mostly their aggressiveness. And this plays to their mental pictures of what a girl like that would be like in the bedroom.
Hey, I'm just saying it. I'm not implying anything here, but I think a lot of guys got off on that angry look, becaues from my experience, guys only have one thing on their mind. Please, correct me if I'm wrong.
Now that the questions are all answered, some via video blog and others via me typing out a response, tell me if this post was remotely interesting or should I go back to just typing things out?
And WA Tom, I'll have to check out that video. . . later.
I'm having a bit of a black out for my blog because I'm going to be away for army school and blogging will not be my highest priority while I am there. So, I've decided to post date this post and allow an open forum for my readers (because I have done this before)
Ask me a question, any question, and I'll do my best to answer it. The question can be about anything in this blog, myself, my opinion on current events, anything really. Because my readership is not as great as it was before when I did this, I think this will be manageable.
I do reserve the right to dodge questions if they get a little to personal, if you get my meaning.
This blog is post dated to December 21st, you have until that day to ask me your questions and they will be answered on that day or shortly thereafter.
Somebody showed this to me and I looked into it and this is what popped out. Hmm. I think I need to take it again because I have a tendency to be somewhat vague with my answers.
Since I'm constantly wondering to myself what should I do with my life, I found it to be beneficial information.
1. Go to http://www.careercruising.com/. 2. Put in Username: nycareers, Password: landmark. 3. Take their "Career Matchmaker" questions. 4. Post the top twenty results (in order).
Horse Trainer was the number one pick, which is interesting because when I was a girl of 12 and a complete horse nut, that's what I wanted to do. Obviously I love animals and everything. Art Teacher didn't come up, but Music Teacher did, considering my musical skills are limited this was amusing to me.
I should take it again in a few days, see if something else comes up.
Well, in honor of the new Simpsons movie, Burger King has teamed up with Matt Groening and they have put together a website where you can simpsonize yourself.
Granted, it looks really nothing like me, but it's still pretty fun messing with your simpson self.
My laptop has lost its Print Screen Function. This is really annoying.
This is a professional grade personality test that grades you on sixteen different types of personalities. The first time I took this test was with the Army a few years back. I don't quite remember what I got then, but I think it hasn't changed much from the test now. I actually took it twice with some other online tests and got quite a range of results. However, when I took it with the school's version, I got the accurate result I feel I had recieved last time I took it.
I got INTP - The Thinker (The Architect) Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving DOes this fit me? I would think so, and most people who know me personally probably agree. Defining INTP
Actually, depending on my mood, I can act extroverted, and in some circumstances, I will be an extrovert. But overall I tend to be into my own little world and oblivious to what is going on around me. Yeah, that's totally me.
I don't usually do a whole lot with Astrology, but being a Cusp Baby (I'm a Scorpio/Saggitarius) I often do these things to get a feel for how accurate astrology is.
In this case, I'm a wee bit more Scorpio that Saggitarius
Just for fun, I decided to try this out and see what kind of hits I could get. However, I found it was very hard to find a picture of myself looking at the camera dead on.
So we decided to do several pictures and see what I could come up with.
All I can say is 'huh?' My number one match is a guy?
So I ran it again. . .
I have heard Reese Witherspoon (about a million times) as well as Christina Ricci once or twice. I've never gotten Katie Holmes before, but I think that has something to do with the angle of my head matching hers.
Hmm, for kicks and giggles, should I do it again?
Aahh! That picture is scary! Like, all the hits are guys!
Ok, I'm addicted. . . Just a couple more. . .
All famous child actresses . . and then. . . Benny Hill???
Ok, you can't get much more straightforward then a DA photo for the US army and I get. . . Tom Welling??? Ok, I'm done. . .
(I also got Ernest Hemingway on that last round, lot's of fun, of course I'm thinking this website is old news)
Ok, now I'm really done (did mention this was addictive, right?)
Go to the Wikipedia and put in your birth month and day. Then post 3 events, 2 births and 2 deaths.
November 22, that one's a doozy. . .
EVENTS

DEATHS
1718 - Blackbeard (Edward Teach), British pirate 1963 - John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States (b. 1917)
Yeah, Kennedy's death is the no-brainer on my special day. But that just means i'm pretty damn good at history, eh?

1. Take the lyrics to a favorite song. 2. Go to Google Language Tools and translate the lyrics into German; then from German to French; and finally from French back into English. 3. Post the results verbatim. 4. Invite your friends to guess the song based on the newly mangled lyrics.
I originally did this song that I love and I feel like it fits my personality, but I'm not sure how well people would know it. So went back and found a song that I knew my family would at the very least get.
All my bags are packed, I must have gone ready, me outside your door, me are hated here to awake you until saying on re-examining. but to be born it to break, early Morn, it taxi to wait to roast its horn. Already, I, am could me die thus solitairement. OH -, baby outward journey hatred me. I leave on a jet, do not know, when I am back again. OH -, baby outward journey hatred me.
I also did it to the chorus of a famous christmas song.
Jingle bells, Jingleglocken, jingle completely. OH - that the recreation should assemble to him in open a sleigh the horse one.
I don't know exactly what this entails, but I just made a Frappr Map. I saw one on Aaron's Blog and I thought I would post it.
So, um, apparently its for groups, but its just to see who's watching my blog or reading my stuff and what not. I thought it would be kind of cool, however it makes me sound like I have multiple personalities or something.
Maybe I should have called the map Incoherant Ramblings instead???
Life: Your life rating is a score of the sum total of your life, and accounts for how satisfied, successful, balanced, capable, valuable, and happy you are. The quiz attempts to put a number on the summation of all of these things, based on your answers. Your life score is reasonably high. This means that you are on a good path. Continue doing what is working and set about to improve in areas which continue to lag. Do this starting today and you will begin to reap the benefits immediately.
Mind: Your mind rating is a score of your mind's clarity, ability, and health. Higher scores indicate an advancement in knowledge, clear and capable thinking, high mental health, and pure thought free of interference. Your mind score is not bad, but could be improved upon. Your mental health is not weak, but you are not achieving full mental clarity and function. Learn how to unclutter your mind. Keep learning, keep improving, continue moving forward.
Body: Your body rating measures your body's health, fitness, and general wellness. A healthy body contributes to a happy life, however many of us are lacking in this area. You have an excellent body score, which means you are incredibly focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Continue in that focus, and your body will remain healthy and strong.
Spirit: Your spirit rating seeks to capture in a number that elusive quality which is found in your faith, your attitude, and your philosophy on life. A higher score indicates a greater sense of inner peace and balance. Your spirit score is relatively high, which means you are rewarded by your beliefs. Spirituality is clearly important to do. Never let it slip, and continue to learn and grow.
Friends/Family: Your friends and family rating measures your relationships with those around you, and is based on how large, healthy, and dependable your social network is. Your friends and family score is not bad but can be improved. Maintain your current social net, while you try to expand it. Try new things and form new friendships. You will be rewarded greatly.
Love: Your love rating is a measure of your current romantic situation. Sharing your heart with another person is one of life's most glorious, terrifying, rewarding experiences. Your love score is very low, indicating trouble. There is love out there for you. Seek the advice of wise people on how to go about finding it. Do not lose hope.
Finance: Your finance rating is a score that rates your current financial health and stability. You have a rather good financial score, which is not all that common these days. Keep doing what works. Avoid common pitfalls and save for the future. You will be glad you did.
Not a bad quiz, more in depth and not as subjective as previous tests I've taken, but I wonder how close I'll line up with that if I were to take it again???
Meanwhile, What is with these Hurricanes this year??? This is going to be known as the Year of the Hurricane, isn't it.
Number of books I own: Considering most of my books are back at home, in boxes, on shelves, and otherwise scattered through the horizon, and many of them I haven't read, I have no idea. Probably well over a thousand. I would think as much. I've got credit up the yin-yang at various used book stores back at home as well. And it is bliss. Ahh. . .
Though I hadn't read many books before coming on this deployment. Yet my minions have been far to kind in providing me with plenty of reading material, once I get around to actually reading them all.
Last book I bought: Death Gate Cycle, books One and Two. But I bought them for somebody else, because he told me that he liked Dragonlance, and anyone that reads Dragonlance has got to read Death Gate Cycle, because its the best series by Weis and Hickman EVER!!!
For me, that would be "drawing People, how to portray the clothed figure", because ever since I took figure drawing I could portray naked people a lot better then clothed people. And being a generally modest person, that makes for some difficulty.
I'm still waiting for it to get here. I should be getting it any time now.
Last book I read: Gallery of Regretable Food, by James Lileks. Considering I've been raving about James Lileks for the last few days, it is no wonder. I got it as a package deal with Interior Desecrations, and this must have been the best 30 bucks i've spent in a long time!
Well, maybe they weren't a package deal, they were just recommended together and I took a chance and bought both. I don't regret it! Everyonce in a while you just got to take a chance!
Except it was phrased a little more differently then. It was phrased as "three books influential to your life" and I had a weak answer then and I'll probably give a similiarly weak answer now.
Hmmm. . .
You know, this is a difficult question to answer for a multitude of reasons. One, after my brain hemorrhage last year, my memory is not as good as it once was (and a lot of people go "woah" when I tell them I've actually had Amnesia before)
So I'll give completely random answers. Because these aren't necessarily the books that mean the most out of all books, they are just five books that mean a lot to me.
Ok, I'm taking far to long to answer this question.
Harry Potter - the entire series which is five books right there, but that's a cheap skate way out. So I won't go there. Anyway, this series is brilliant and fantastic and best of all, its a clean series with no sex or language and an old fashioned black and white view of Good Vs Evil. And I'm a sucker for fantasy. There is a reason why Harry Potter is such a big seller.
Calvin and Hobbes, though I'm not sure how much these guys count, but they are a great comic strip that often poses questions and otherwise a highly entertaining read. I want to get this book. But I'm going to wait until I get home to get it. Because if I buy it here, I'll have to ship a thirty pound book home and that's just not smart.
To cover the classics, 'cause I want to get a variety of books on this thing, I'll include To Kill A Mocking Bird by Harper Lee, which is an excellent book that I was subjected to during High School that I didn't mind reading. I guess I could also include the watered down version of Beowulf that I read in Jr High as well. I've read so many different versions of Beowulf since then that I don't know which version is the true correct version anymore however.
For that matter, Flowers for Algernon. Excellent read. For some reason, I always liked that short story, but it doesn't really count because its a short story, not a book. But now I'm just rambling.
At great risk of revealing my religious beliefs, I need to include The BoM, mainly because of course anybody's system of beliefs whether it be how they were raised or something they have discovered for themselves is highly influential to them, and although I have often been flaggering in the past in regards to my spirituality, I still cling to my basic tenents of faith. Yes, its important to me, and in a way that I prefer not to go about talking about it in a place on my blog under normal circumstances. Last thing I want to do is incite a debate on religion in my Blog. I already had enough crap when I got into politics last year! And the BoM goes hand in hand with The Other Good Book. KJV is preferred read.
Last but certainly not least, I'll lump all of my writings into one category. Yes, my own stories mean a whole lot to me. You kind of get attached to your characters as I most certainly did. Sorry, there is no link, I don't have them available to the masses. But most of them are the size of a decent book. I won't say if they are good or not, that is up to me to decide and you to wonder about.
So, this is when I tag somebody else to do this thing too, huh? Um, Ok. Who reads my blog on a regular basis that won't mind answering a bunch of questions about books?
Your Intellectual Type is Visionary Philosopher. This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others - and at anticipating and predicting patterns. And that's just some of what we know about you from your IQ results.
Yes, I know I'm good at math and patterns. I think this is what I got last time i took this too (which was about two or so years ago). I need to find other IQ tests.
I have the high speed results elsewhere. But regardless, its kind of fun to take. I don't generally give actual raw scores online. People will think I cheated.
Ok, after trying it again, that sounds a lot more like it. But I'm still labeled as 'relaxed', anybody who knows me knows that I am not relaxed.
And Sparkling? Oh well, you can never trust these stupid Memes anyway.
Gah, I really actually have to get up at a decent time in the morning. And my foot is asleep. *grumble*
I'm reverting back to my predeployment days of staying up to the wee hours of the night and getting by on about four hours of sleep. Not good. Definitely not good.
Or maybe it is?
I just reverted to my spontanious habit as well. Yeah, that's it, that S stands for Spontanious!
Oh heck, I'll just do my own. R stands for Rabid I stands for Incoherent S stands for Spontanious A stands for Artistic (eh, I like that one) W stands for George Bush N stands for Not Sorry
Air Strike You preferred a weapon with 56% power over speed and 80% range over melee.
You use Air Strikes.
Fighting? Fighting is for idiots! All you have to do is make a quick walkie-talkie call and have the ground ahead of you carpeted with explosive charges. Your enemies will be searching frantically for refuge as you chuckle from afar.
My test tracked 2 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
I've officially visited the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia (FYROM, to appease the Greeks) for a couple of hours yesterday. I even got some FYROM Dinars to add to my growing collection of world moneys.
That brings my total countries visited up to 8. They include Canada, United States, Trinidad and Tobago (layover flight, actually didn't set foot there but did land there so does that count?) Suriname, Iceland, Germany, Serbia and Montenegro (well, the province of Kosovo which is part of Serbia and Montenegro for the time being) and FYROM. Ah, what the hell, I'll call it Macedonia, that's what everyone else but NATO, the UN and the Greeks call it.
Next country to likely be visited will either be Bulgaria or Greece.
Ok, the insane task I set myself up with was allowing people to ask me a variety of questions posted in my comment section of my blog, and see how creative they would get in asking me questions, and in turn, see how creative I could get in responding. I've enjoyed doing things like this in the past, but before I always did it with a slight twist. Once, for my comic, I had my readers ask my characters questions that I would answer as they would.
It turned out to be viciously funny at times! But, um, this is when I get to answer as me. So I don't get to be as creative. Unless I dug out those multiple personalities! Yeah, that might work!
Darth Monkeybone Which Star Wars movie is your favorite? Ewoks, Battle of Endor. But that was when I was four. I didn't know any better at the time because I didn't watch Star Wars all the way through until the seventh grade.
I think the second one has some sentimentality to me (Empire Strikes Back, not Attack of the Clones,, which I only saw the one time in the theater) for some reason because it is the true tortured character mythos going on there.
And Mark Hamil can really contort his face when he screams "NNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
If given the chance, would you pimpslap George Lucas for Jar-Jar Binks? There really is worse travesties in this world. For instance, can I pimpslap him for Howard the Duck instead?
R Conte How heavy is the M16? Roughly Seven and a Half Pounds. It feels a lot heavier when you're involved with Weapons PT.
What should the maximum weight be of a replacement for the M16? About the same. I think they should focus on making a weapon that doesn't jam as much before they concern themselves over trying to make it lighter.
What do you think about women in the military? I'm a woman in the military. That said, I have run into some fine women soldiers and I've run into some females that needed to be slapped around or just kicked out. There is definitely a place in the military for women who want to serve and there are plenty of fine soldiers that can do the job as well if not better then any man.
Women in combat arms, now that's another story. As the military progresses, I foresee that eventually units that are designed to engage the enemy will eventually open up to women, but I don't feel that now is the time. As war changes, this will change as well. There is an issue with the combat issue in regards to women. I hate to say it, but its called "SEX". People are horny, and people under stress are horny. The battle field is not the place for hanky panky, and I know better then to say that soldiers are more mature then that for that to happen. That's a load of Bull. There's nobody hornier then the young private fresh out of basic. I know. I've met him (and her) many times.
In a perfect world, it wouldn't be an issue. This isn't a perfect world.
Army NCO Guy What is the meaning of life?
Forty-Two.
No, but really. If you want me to get philosophical, I can simply tell you that I believe that life is really a test to see what we're made of. We are given various trials during the course of our existence and it is through the series of our choices and how we deal with the consequences that ultimately determine what happens to us on the other side.
